A $5 Wine and a 3-Ingredient Appetizer

I’m a little behind on posts, but most recently I tried the California roots wine at Target for $5. I chose the Pinot Grigio variety, but I believe they have a smorgasbord of different flavors. I am super skeptical of any wine that is too inexpensive, but certainly for the price point this scratched the itch for having wine on a Monday ;).
The wine itself was super pale, with notes of grass and white flowers. The wine is also “vinted” which I’ve never heard before. According to the Washington Post, this means “these indicate essentially finished wines purchased in bulk and then given some sort of cellar treatment before bottling. This treatment can be blending two or more wines, adding sugar or water, filtering, pasteurization, adding flavorings or something as simple as refrigeration.” Well, that explains the $5.
Overall, the wine was pretty subtle and tasted a bit like water with a jasmine in it...which isn’t that bad if you ask me.
I served this with my new favorite 3-ingredient appetizer: celery sticks filled with Neufchâtel cream cheese, dusted with everything bagel spice. Frankly, I don’t think anything beats that!
Wine Notes:
